This year’s National Camogie League Division Three begins on Sunday February 7th as Meath take on Laois at Donaghamore Ashbourne at 3.00pm.
Meath last year’s Gala All-Ireland Junior semi-finalists are tipped as the favourites to capture the league title and will look for big performances in Sunday’s opening encounter from Jane Dolan along with Soaring Star recipient and captain Louise Donoghue.
However, they face stiff opposition from a Laois side which includes Louise Mahony, a 2009 Soaring Star as well as a number of players from the renowned Harps camogie club.
Dublin also begin their league campaign this Sunday against Kildare at Ballyboden St. Enda’s at 2.30pm.
Aisling Fogarty, Brigid Sweetman and Emer Murphy will be amongst a youthful Dublin side hoping to build on last year’s displays with Pat Duncan and Paul Beecher remaining in charge for another term.
Kildare manager Tom O’Mahony has a full panel to pick from and will be looking to Susie O’Carroll, 2009 Shinty International Niamh Breen and Cliodhna McSweeney to lead the way. Also, former Kildare and St.Laurence’s player Melanie Treacy has joined O’Mahony’s management team as a selector.
Meanwhile, the remaining fixture of Armagh and Roscommon has been postponed.
