U18A Championship All Ireland Semi Final

Clare ; 4.15   Tipperary ; 0.09

The Gaelic grounds in Limerick last weekend certainly was no happy place for Tipperary u18s when they suffered at the hands of a more rampant Clare side in this one sided semi Final clash.

Tipperary travelled to Limerick full of hope for this panel who have played together underage for the last few years and hopes were high for an All Ireland Final place. Even from the start Tipp started brightly when Cait Devane laid off a pass to Caitriona Shortt for the game`s first point in the 3rd minute. However, Clare rallied and after 15 minutes it was 2.05 to Tipp`s 2 points.

Clare played one player in the full forward line throughout the first half & her pace split the Tipp defence who all the time played out of position due to Clare`s tactics. At half time the game was over as a contest with Clare ahead on a scoreline of  3.08 to 0.05.

In fairness to the Tipp girls they continued to plug away in the second half but Clare were at their ease & cruised to an emphatic win.

Gala All Ireland Senior Championship News:

Next Saturday August 16th  all roads will lead to Nowlan Park in Kilkenny when Tipperary Seniors will play Cork in the Gala All Ireland Senior Semi Final. Galway and Wexford will battle it out in the second semi final which will also be played in Nowlan Park.

Tipp and Cork have met twice this year, once in the Munster Final & once in the Championship round robin series. On both occasions the rebels have had the upper hand, but Tipperary have been very close to stealing a victory, so it looks like this game will be a  very close affair. Everyone associated with Camogie  in Tipperary wish the panel & management team the very best of luck in this game & hopefully the spoils will travel back to Tipperary. Hopefully there will be a large turnout of support in Kilkenny for the Tipp girls.

The first game of the day will feature Tipp and Cork, throw in at 1.30pm.  Galway and Wexford will then contest the second final at 3.30pm.  Both games at Nowlan Park.
