The Camogie Association is seeking a dynamic and energetic individual to join the Association’s team in the role of Communications and Operations Executive.

The Camogie Association is the National Governing Body for the sport of Camogie, responsible for promoting and developing the game. Camogie is on UNESCO’s list of protected cultural activities around the world. The Camogie Association operates at club, county, provincial and international levels with teams of all ages participating in our sport in recreational and competitive activities.

The post holder will report directly to the Operations Manager and will be required to work in collaboration with staff team colleagues, colleagues across the GAA, and with the Association’s network of volunteers at club, county, provincial, national and international levels, to deliver on the strategic plan and annual work plans.

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Communication: supporting the communications and operations managers in delivering effective communication for all Camogie Association activities, fixtures and events
  • supporting the implementation of the communications strategy and communications, broadcast and media work plans.
  • Social media – creation of content and supporting the social media output of the Camogie Association across all activities and platforms
  • Operations- support the work of the operations team
  • Support for Partnerships – supporting the communications needs, activations and rights of Camogie Association sponsors and partners
  • Public Relations – supporting the delivery of promotions, media launches, media and broadcasting of Camogie Association activities
  • Promotion – Support delivery of the PR, communications and ticketing strategy for all major events held by the Association
  • Publications – support the preparation of Camogie Association publications
  • Representation – represent the Camogie Association at events

Requirements

  • A degree or equivalent level 7 qualification in a subject/discipline that can be proven relevant to the post
  • A minimum of 1 years’ experience in a similar role, (sponsorship, public relations, marketing, communications, branding, event management etc.), as part of a dynamic and fast paced team
  • Proficiency in Social Media content creations and engagement across multiple social media platforms
  • Experience of preparing reports
  • An understanding of the unique environment of volunteer sporting National Governing Bodies
  • An understanding of Public Relations and Communications; Branding and Sponsorship; Event Logistics; Social Media and utilising it on behalf of an organisation
  • An ability to work independently and as part of a vibrant diverse team, to tight deadlines.
  • Highly organised, motivated, thorough and conscientious, with demonstrated ability to work to deadlines

The successful candidate will also have the following:

  • Current full clean driving license, insurance, and access to own transport.

The appointment will be subject to Garda/PSNI vetting clearance.

Location – this role is based in the Camogie Association Offices beside Croke Park, Dublin

Job type: Permanent (subject to 6-month probationary period).

Working hours: Hours of attendance will be as fixed from time to time but will not amount to less than 39 hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to work such additional hours from time to time as may be reasonable and necessary for the proper performance of their duties subject to the limits set down in the working time regulations.

This role requires flexibility and will entail out-of-hours working.

The responsibilities and accountabilities might differ from those outlined, and other duties as assigned, might be part of the job.
