Tara take on Four Roads Roscommon

Tara travel to Roscommon next weekend to take on Four Roads in the All-Ireland Junior Club Quarter Final. Tara have been the on form team in London this year, winning the Junior and Senior Championship final. They have also reached both the Junior and Senior League final which are yet to be decided. With 35 strong panel Tara management of Paul Walsh, Brian Mansfield and Mags Heneghan have had a tough time narrowing the panel down to 22. Since the County Final Tara have had a few more additions to strengthen the team, notably Anne Digan from Offally who has added an extra strength in depth to the team. This will be a mammoth challenge for the girls in blue and white however they have stepped up to the challenge so far. The management team have upped the training over the last few weeks and put everyone through their paces.

In defence Tara will look to the experience of Vice-captain Ann Gleeson for leadership. Gleeson hailing from Cashel, Co. Tipperary has been part of the back bone of Tara camogie for a number of years now. She has been solid in defence for Tara and had a great year lining out for London corner back. An injury to midfielder MÚabh Brennan during a challenge game is a blow to Tara. Brennan has been instrumental for Tara all season. Up front Captain Denise Gilligan will be leading the Tara attack. Free taker and goal scorer Gilligan will need to be on form for Tara. Responsibility will also rest on the experienced shoulders of Bid Grennan to rally the team. However with a strong panel of 22 everyone will play a part.

Not much is known about Four Roads and Tara will go in as underdogs to this game. A title that suits the blue and white.. At the start of the season Tara were outsiders to win the Championships in London but that did not stop them. The management team have done a great job with the team and the girls are ready to take it to the next level and put London camogie firmly on the map.
