Annual U9 Blitz
Limerick County annual U9 Blitz was played last weekend in Crecora, the sun was shining and all 19 teams that took part had an excellent day’s camogie. Crecora GAA Club did not see such a huge number of people in many years. The car park was full and all the roads leading to the pitch were lined with cars. All the players had a wonderful day, and each received a medal and some goodies. Crecora Camogie Cub excelled themselves in their organisation and facilities. Thanks to Tim Egan and his willing support from parents and fellow trainers. Thanks also go to the referees on the day (Alison, Megan, Trish, Anna & Kate) who came from the Crecora U16 team and they did very well in their refereeing debut. A special mention to the group who made teas, coffees (percolated no less), sandwiches, cakes, etc available to all who attended. At a guess over 300 people were catered for throughout the day. The day was certainly aided by the presence of lovely weather – rumour has it that Tim had the Child of Prague prominently displayed in his garden all week. Proceedings started at 10am and were complete to plan at 2.30pm. We must also recognise Crecora GAA Club for making their facilities available and for having the pitch in such great condition for ground hurling. Finally, thanks to all teams and most particularly each and every player who attended to display their excellent skills. Every player was a winner.
