Meath’s three main adult championships finals took place last weekend, where Kilmessan emerged back on the throne as senior Champions. They went on to represent their county in the Leinster Club Championship on Saturday evening at 5.30pm. They travelled to Wicklow to play Donard Glen, who are the Wicklow senior champions.

Kilmessan started strongly in the second half and reaped the rewards from hard work from their back line & midfield to put over some fine scores. Lisa Horan in particular impressed with two excellent scores from play. Stephanie Horan & Frances Lynch netted for Kilmessan again with Donnelly adding further points from frees to put the game beyond the home side. Kilmessan conceded a goal in the dying minutes of the match but ran out comfortable winners. Sarah Ross, Caoimhe O’Leary & Lisa Horan impressed for Kilmessan.

The other semi-final pairing is between St Laurence’s (Kildare) V Drumcullen (Offaly). The Leinster Final is fixed for the 10th October.
Under 21 Championship
Blackhall Gaels 6-11. Kilmessan 1-3
Blackhall opened their U21 campaign with a comprehensive victory over Kilmessan. The Blackhall ladies were in fine form and looked to have the upper hand right from the start. There were many fine individual performances with Emily Mangan and Helen Murphy holding fast in defence and the midfield duo of Holly Geraghty and Kristina Troy both in superb form. An inspiring display from centre forward and captain Jane Dolan who racked up a tally of 4-8 secured a well deserved victory for Blackhall. Orla Doyle and Katie Ni Choileann did their best to try and keep Kilmessan in contention.
