After being level on no less than six occasions, the Purple and Gold finished strongly in the closing quarter following a wonderful goal from Ciara O’Connor – the Rathnure girl was one of three sisters on the team and also a sibling of Division One captain Aoife.
The scoreboard was level at the break following a largely entertaining opening 30 minutes, 0-8 to 1-5, and central to the Antrim play was skipper Jane Adams who was her team leader firing five of their eight points.

Wexford had the more balanced 15, and held out for the five point advantage despite two late scores from Adams and Michaela Convery. Yet, Antrim – the Division Three title holders – couldn’t get through for the goal they so badly needed.
