Katie Lonergan – A two-way street of inspiration personified .

The courage Katie Lonergan has exuded since the day she was born is as irrefutable as the unwavering reality that she would become captivated by the sport she lives and breathes – Camogie. She was so enthusiastic to enter the world that she came 15 weeks earlier than she was due, arriving on the 3rd of September, 2009. The fight in her was vividly apparent from day dot, as she spent 19 weeks in the neonatal intensive care unit in Waterford Regional Hospital and underwent various surgeries, before eventually being diagnosed with cerebral palsy spastic quadriplegia at around 18 months old.
