Karen Kielt produced a quite sensational individual performance as Derry captured a third successive All-Ireland U16 B camogie title in Ashbourne on Sunday.
The Kilrea starlet bagged an incredible individual haul of 2-13 as the Oak Leaf County ran out comprehensive 6-18 to 0-6 winners against outclassed Offaly.
Kielt bagged 1-7 in the first half and 1-6 in the second period to help ensure that team captain Danielle McCrystal from Maghera got her hands on the prized silverware after the game.
Grßinne McNicholl was also in fine scoring form for Derry with a brace of goals.
McNicholl, daughter of former Derry ace Sarah, raised a green flag in each half as the winners completed an historic hat-trick of titles at this grade.
Derry’s other scorers were Teresa McElroy, who chipped in with 1-3, Mary Kelly scored a goal and Eimear Mullan contributed two second half points.
Kielt, McNicholl and Kelly scored the first half goals as Derry opened up a decisive 3-9 to 0-2 half-time advantage.
Kielt and McNicholl were at it again in the second half while McElroy also got in on the act as Offaly struggled to keep the score down.
The Faithful County kept fighting to the finish but just two of their players made scoring contributions as Derry ran riot at the other end.
Orla Murray scored 0-5 for Offaly, including four frees, while Debbie Flynn contributed a second half point from play.
Meanwhile, in the minor B championship last Saturday, there were comprehensive wins for Offaly, Down and Waterford against Meath, Armagh and Laois respectively.
In the U16A championship, Tipp defeated Limerick 3-13 to 1-10 while Cork ran out 2-19 to 2-10 victors against Galway.
In the minor A championship on Sunday, Clare defeated Cork by 1-8 to 0-6 in a game which also doubled up as the Munster minor championship decider.
And in the Gala junior championship, Westmeath enjoyed a 5-8 to 1-9 victory against Leinster rivals Carlow.
