Scariff put in a very determined performance in Bodyke on Saturday evening. Aine O’Brien was very central to the winning performance as she drove mid-field. Mairead Scanlon was very sharp in the forward line and justly had 3 goals to her credit.
Feakle fought hard but didn’t live with Scariff in the middle of the field. They were also much lighter than the Scariff side. Feakle will be left wondering what they have to do to win as this is now their 6^th Junior Final to have lost in a row.
Scariff on the other hand after spending last year rebuilding were delighted when the final whistle went and erupted into jubilation.

 Clare U12 and U14 competitions

With u14 competitions underway at this stage the U12 has also now swung into action. All grades are up and running.
The U12A grade has five teams in contention for the title. Winners last year Sixmilebridge, beaten finalists Newmarket-on-Fergus, Kilmaley, Wolfe Tones and St. Joseph’s. This competition will run on the new format, just like the U14A. The top two teams will qualify for the final with the remaining teams in a play-off for the A Shield. This it is hoped will promote the game to those in the A grades who may not get a great number of games. These games will commence on Wednesday of this week.
The B grade has had a number of games already and with three rounds played will be an interesting competition. Kilkishen, Clarecastle, Clooney, Ballyea, Inagh, Tulla, Truagh and Broadford. At present Kilkishen and Inagh are looking promising. With four to make their way through to semi-finals, there is very little separating the following teams and any of them will be capable of qualifying for the semi-final.
The C division is divided into two groupings and comprises the amalgamation of Feakle/Bodyke and newly formed Club Burren. Scariff, Parteen, Whitegate, Killanena and Eire Og are all in group 1 along with Feakle/Bodyke. Kilnamona, Ogonnelloe, Corofin and Ruan are in the second group with Burren. This competition is run at 12 a-side and allows three substitutions. The top two teams in each of these groups wil make the semi-final stages. All u12 games are played from 21 to 21 with small goals and are 25 minutes a-side.
