Choose your favourite Irish Sporting Moment of the modern era and win a holiday prize worth €7,000!
In conjunction with the Irish Star newspaper, TG4’s panel of sporting experts has compiled a shortlist of the 30 top moments in Irish sport from the television era, stretching in time from Ronnie Delany’s Gold medal at the 1956 Olympics to Pßdraig Harrington’s golf triumph at the Open in Carnoustie in July this year.
It was quite a task to confine the list to 30 and our experts, Micheßl Ë Muircheartaigh, Jimmy Magee, Eoin Hand, Ted Walsh, Peter Quinn, Eoin Brannigan and +amonn Coghlan thought long and hard (and argued quite a bit) before compiling their list of 30. Their role was to compile the list of 30 and they were not asked to put that list in any particular order or pick an overall winner.
Now it’s your turn. Select your own favourite top three from the experts’ list of 30, register your vote on the website, by short text or by post and on New Year’s Day watch TG4 to find out how your choice fared in comparison with that of the other other viewers who voted.
All you have to do is vote for your top three – and you could be on your way to that magical holiday.
The Top 30 Moments will all be shown on a special TG4 Programme on New Year’s Day 2008, counting down and culminating in the people’s choice – the top 3.
All who vote will be in with a chance of the magnificent holiday prize – with flights, accommodation and some spending money too!
