Two Senior Double Headers to Take Place in Croke Park on 6th & 7th July
Tipperary and Cork topped their respective groups in the Senior grade and will head straight to the Glen Dimplex All-Ireland Camogie Semi-Finals in UPMC Nowlan Park on 27th July, where they will meet the winners of the Quarter-Finals this weekend.
The teams who will play in the Glen Dimplex All-Ireland Championship Senior Quarter-Finals are Kilkenny, Dublin, Galway and Waterford. Kilkenny play Dublin this Saturday 6th July at 12.30pm as part of a double header in Croke Park before the meeting of Kilkenny and Clare in the GAA All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship Semi-Final. Galway play Waterford the following day, Sunday7th July, at 1.30pm before Limerick take on Cork in the second of the Senior Hurling Semi-Finals.
Tipperary and Laois progress through to this year’s Glen Dimplex All-Ireland Premier Junior Championship Semi-Finals on 20th July in Donaghmore Ashbourne GAA. They will meet the two winners of this weekend’s Quarter-Finals in either Armagh, Roscommon, Tyrone or Cavan. This weekend’s Premier Junior Quarter-Finals between Armagh v Roscommon and Tyrone v Cavan will take place as a double header in Clane GAA this Saturday 6th July at 2pm and 4pm respectively.
Camogie players from Cork (Molly Lynch), Tipperary (Mairead Eviston), Galway (Aine Keane), Dublin (Emma O’Byrne), Waterford (Aoife Landers), Kilkenny (Aoife Prendergast), Tipperary (Sinead Meagher), Roscommon (Orla Connelly), Armagh (Leanne Donnelly), Tyrone (Úna McCann) Cavan (Shanise Fitzsimons) and Laois (Líadan C Fennell) all attended the launch yesterday in Croke Park.

“What a weekend of Hurling and Camogie action we have coming up. I really can’t wait and I encourage all the Hurling fans travelling to their semi-finals to make the effort to get to Croke Park early and watch the Camogie games because we have two mouth-watering fixtures.
Saturday 6th July will see Kilkenny take on Dublin. We can’t forget that at this stage last year Kilkenny were narrowly beaten by last years all Ireland winners Cork. Kilkenny definitely want to go (at least!) one better this year – especially in front of their hurling supporters who will be there for their fixture against Clare. Meanwhile Dublin have an opportunity to shine in HQ in front of their home supporters and will definitely want to grasp that opportunity.
On Sunday 7th July, Galway take on last year’s beaten finalists Waterford. The Deise will certainly be looking to get themselves back into the finals this year but equally Galway will be looking to recover from a big loss last weekend to Cork. Neither of these teams are going to step back on Sunday without giving it their all. This one is followed by the Limerick v Cork Hurling semi-final which will undoubtedly also be a cracking fixture.
Again I stress, we are moving towards a single integrated Association which will encompass both Hurling and Camogie equally. We really want to see the Hurling supporters get to Croke Park early to support the Camogie players and I am sure that the Camogie supporters on both days will stay on to support the hurlers. Separately we have our Premier Junior quarter-finals also on Saturday 6th July in Clane with Cavan taking on Tyrone and Armagh taking on Roscommon.
