It's a hectic weekend on the Camogie Minor championship and National league front as fresh from the Minor B semi-finals, the A grade takes centre stage on Saturday afternoon in Kilmallock and MacDonagh Park respectively. Munster rivals Tipperary and Cork throw in at 2.00pm in the first semi-final with John Dolan of Clare taking charge of proceedings while Galway face Kilkenny at 2.30pm with Cathal Egan of Cork in charge.
Tipperary put in a number of impressive displays in the round robin stages, winning two of their three games and racking up an impressive scoring tally. Anne Eviston at centre back, Caoimhe Maher at midfield and captain Tara Kennedy are key performers. Cork, will look to Glen Rovers club woman, Lauren Callanan at centre back, Orla Cronin at centre forward and Linda Collins in the full forward line. A tight encounter is anticipated.
The meeting of Galway and Kilkenny is equally as difficult to predict. Kilkenny have had tremendous success at senior schools level and have reaped the rewards at minor level as well. Meg Farrell of the Thomastown club captains the side, from wing-back while Lydia Fitzpatrick and Aisling Nolan combine as a formidable midfield pairing. For the westerners, Orlaith McGrath, sister of senior star Niamh lines out at full forward while Maria Breheny will be relied upon at centre-foward to pull the strings.
On Sunday, league semi-final action takes place across all four divisions with a place in this year's finals beckoning on the May Bank
Holiday weekend. Cork and Clare meet in Kilmallock at 2.30pm while Kilkenny take on Wexford at Walsh Park, throw in 3.15pm
