This year's O’Neill’s Continental Youth Championships (CYC) took place in Philadelphia last week and again was a resounding success. This year’s event was one of the biggest in the tournament's history with over 5,000 players taking part. Over 40 championships were contested between the age-groups of eight to 18 at this year’s CYC. President of the Camogie Association Aileen Lawlor spoke of the tremendous development work which was being carried out and complimented all of the organising committees including the local Youth Committee and the CYC Steering Committee. During a function at the conclusion of the tournament, Uachtarán Chumann Lúthchleas Gael Liam Ó Néill spoke of his delight of being present to witness the fruits of the tremendous work being done by the various youth boards outside of Ireland. He commended the local Youth Committee and the CYC Steering Committee for a great job in organising the tournament.
