The Cooper under 14 National Blitz competition takes place tomorow (Sunday Sept 14th) in varoius Dublin venues. This is the second year of the Cooper Under 14 All Ireland Championship blitz competition. The Association would like to thank Cooper for its continued sponsorship of this competition. This year 30 counties entered at least one team in the competition over the 5 divisions with 48 teams taking part in total.
Division 5 of this competition already took place (Sunday the 1st of September) in Páirc Seán Mac Diarmada, Carrick on Shannon. Sligo entered the competition as hot favourites to retain their title from last year. There was some fantastic camogie on show as Leitrim, Longford and Sligo all battled it out for division 5 glory. The final was contested by Sligo and Longford with Longford winning out this year to capture the division 5 Michael Kennedy Cup.
Each Under 14 teams who participates in the competition will parade at the Liberty Insurance All Ireland Camogie Finals on Sunday September 15th in Croke Park. The parade was a huge success last year on All Ireland final day and gave the girls the opportunity to experience the excitement of being in front of a large crowd in Croke Park. Sincere thanks to all counties who are participating and to their mentors for the time they dedicate to these young players. Best wishes to all counties on Saturday and it is hoped that the day provides an enjoyable experience for all.
