The inaugural Ulster Camogie Under 18 Seven A-Side Competition took place in the excellent facilities of Davitts GAC, Swatragh, Co Derry on Saturday (2nd August) with 8 teams participating (Swatragh, Cushenadall, Ballinascreen, Ballycastle, Glenullin, Creggan, Portglenone and Bridini Oga Glenravel). The cup winners were Cushendall (pictures above) who defeated Ballinascreen in a very entertaining final. Swatragh Camogie Club won the Shield competition defeating Bridini Oga Glenravel after extra time in a very close and competitive encounter.
 
A special word of thanks to the referees on the day Ciara Hayes, Eddie Nash, and John Devlin for their professionalism in quite testing weather conditions!

110 years of Camogie celebrated with Provincial Blitzes
The Camán to Clones event for Ulster clubs takes place this Saturday the 9th August in St.Tiernachs pitch in Clones. There will be 30 clubs from all over Ulster taking part in the event on Saturday next.
Camán to Thurles takes place in Semple Stadium on Friday the 15th August with the Camán to Tullamore event taking place in O Connor park Tullamore on Saturday 16th August.
 
 
 
Hurl with Me Training Workshop
A Mum & me/ Hurl with me training workshop for tutors from Armagh and Tyrone took place in St Enda's Derrymacash, Co Armagh on Thursday 24th July. 23 coaches and 11 parents took part in session. The coaches were from St Enda's Derrymacash, Brocagh, Derrytresk, Derrylaughan, Culloville and Tullysaran. The workshop which was delivered by Ger Gribben Camogie RDO. The aim of this programme is to train up tutors / leaders who will be able to run Mum and Me / Hurl With Me programmes in their clubs and other clubs within their region.
 
 
 
Armagh Camogie Nursery Programme
A Camogie Nursery Coaching Workshop was held in St Enda's Camogie Club Derrymacash, Co Armagh on Thursday 31st July. St Enda's Camogie club ran their own Nursery which had over 40 girls involved. Camogie RDO Ger Gribben took 11 parents in a 'Camogie Taster' session in with the hope they will be more involved with their children during the St Enda club's Nursery sessions. There were 23 coaches from 4 clubs involved in the workshop and all the coaches were actively acting as coaches on the night – planning, organising demonstrating, delivering nursery sessions. Cavan Summer camps
This week saw the beginning of the Hurling/Camogie Summer Camps in Cavan. These camps run by Cavan GAA and hosted by four clubs throughout the county (Cootehill, Castlerahan, East Cavan Gaels and Cavan Town) throughout August. Cootehill took place this week with 80 girls and boys attending from the 5th-7th August.

Gort na Mona camogie club in Belfast are hosting their Annual U16 Bronagh Kelly memorial tournament on Sunday 31st August and they are looking clubs to enter. This is a 7 a-side tournament open to all clubs. Get in touch with the club for further details.
