We take a look at the Irish Daily Star National League standings ahead of this weekend’s exciting fixture list.

The Division 1 fixtures are a mirror image of each other in Group 1 and Group 2. Both have a top of the table clash with Limerick hosting Wexford in Group 1 as Dublin welcome Cork in Group 2. All eyes will be on the Dubs as they face a tough task in the All-Ireland champions Cork. With both teams on two wins from two, the Dubs will look to continue their winning streak under the new management of Shane O’Brien. The weekend will also have bottom of the table clashes in Division 1 as Group 1 sees a winless Tipperary take on a similarly winless Galway, and Group 2 sees Kilkenny playing host to Derry, both teams yet to manage a point on the board.

In Division 2 Group 1, Galway travel to Kildare in what is set to be a tightly-contested clash in the top half of the table. Having both lost to top of the table sides last week, Westmeath and Antrim face off with both teams eager to bounce back to winning ways. Bottom of the table Wexford are yet to put a point on the board and it gets tougher for them as they play host to a seemingly unstoppable Laois side.

In Division 2 Group 2, Tipperary travel to take on a mid-table Cork side. After being beaten well in their first two matches, Tipperary will be keen to record their first league win. Having lost out narrowly to both Cork and Meath, Down have yet to put a point on the board and it gets tougher for them too as they travel to face a red-hot Kilkenny side. Both scraping very narrow wins last week, Waterford and Meath will look to continue their good run as they compete for an important two points this weekend.

In Division 3, Limerick play host to Carlow with both teams competing for a top of the table spot. Carlow have one win from one thus far, albeit against a struggling Armagh side. Roscommon have made a habit of drawing in their first two games, but will look to record their first win when they host a struggling Armagh side who will be eager to get points on the board.

All is set to be another cracking weekend of action in the Irish Daily Star National League, make sure you get to one of the games!!
