The Camogie Association is seeking a Fixtures and Events Manager as part of the Association’s Senior Leadership team.
The post holder will report directly to the CEO , will lead the fixtures and operations team, and will be required to work in collaboration with management and staff team colleagues, and with the Association’s network of volunteers at club, county, provincial, national and international levels, to deliver on the strategic plan and annual work plans.
Key Responsibilities of the role include:
- Managing all operational aspects of the Association including the management of the fixtures and operations team.
- Planning and maintaining an efficient work schedule for staff, ensuring adequate coverage during busy periods, such as competitions and events.
- Developing, planning and managing the annual fixture calendar
- Overseeing day-to-day office operations
- Collaborating with senior management and other departments to help develop strategic plans.
- Supervision and responsibility for departmental budget.
- Acting as Data Protection Officer
- Maintaining and implementing health and safety policies to ensure adherence all events and operations including risk assessments.
- Conducting regular risk assessments for events, venues, and activities to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
Requirements
- A degree or equivalent level 8 qualification in a subject/discipline that can be proven relevant to the post or 3 years senior management comparable experience.
- Three years’ comparable work experience including proven planning and management experience, including leading and motivating people.
- Experience of managing complex projects
- An understanding of the nature of sporting events, including fixtures planning, scheduling and operations
- Demonstrated experience of managing diverse workstreams and operating in a dynamic environment, planning and scheduling multiple projects and events, prioritising tasks and adaptability to changing workloads and delivering on targets
- Demonstrated experience and effectiveness as a communicator including report writing, oral and presentation skills.
- An understanding of the role of organisational governance and legal compliance requirements in a sporting organisation
The successful candidate will also have the following:
- Current full clean driving license, insurance, and access to own transport.
- The appointment will be subject to Garda/PSNI vetting clearance.

Location – this role is based in the Camogie Association Offices beside Croke Park, Dublin
Job type: Permanent (subject to 6-month probationary period).
Working hours: Hours of attendance will be as fixed from time to time but will not amount to less than 39 hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to work such additional hours from time to time as may be reasonable and necessary for the proper performance of their duties subject to the limits set down in the working time regulations.
This role requires flexibility and will entail out of standard office hours working.
