Kilkenny face Galway this Saturday in the Liberty Insurance All-Ireland Senior Championship Semi-Finals. The game will be played in Semple Stadium with a 5.30pm throw-in.
The Cats come into the fixture with a 100% record, including a win over their Semi-Final opponents, as they topped Group 1 and gained a direct passage to the Semi-Finals. They'll be hoping to reach a third consecutive All-Ireland Final on Sunday September 9th and avenge their Final defeat to Cork last year.
We caught up with Davina Tobin as they prepare for a tough clash against Galway.
Q. After being undefeated in the group stage, how do you fancy your chances against Galway?
"I think we have a good chance moving forward. Everyone's training really well. We'e going well as a team – we probably started off slow a bit at the start but I think we have a good chance – you have to stay positive."
Q. Last year you came up just short of lifting the O'Duffy Cup, does it give you any extra motivation for this year?
"Yes it does. Last year was heart-breaking losing by a point in added time. So yes it's definitely motivating the whole team and everyone in the backroom team to push on and bring it home this year."
Q. You mentioned that you’re a barber, how do you manage to balance work and playing Camogie for both your Club and County?
"Yeah work is hard. You're working from 9am until 6pm and then training starts at 7pm so you're going straight to training. You have to have a good diet and meals planned well in advance. It is hard but you just do it and that's it."
