Aoife, a member of the Douglas Camogie Club, was a highly talented camogie player and had won numerous accolades with her club and school most notably a national FÚile Camogie Division 1 title with Douglas in 2009.
President of the Camogie Association, Joan O’Flynn, expressed her deep sadness at the news of Aoife’s premature death: “”Aoife was a very talented camogie player and all round sportsperson. She had a bright future ahead of her not only in camogie but also in ladies football and soccer. On behalf of the Camogie Association I express our deepest sympathy to her heartbroken family and to the many friends she had in sport and beyond. I know that Aoife will be sadly missed but I hope that the support of her friends in sport and in particular the members of the Douglas Camogie and GAA Clubs will her parents Siobhßn and Seßn and her sisters +adaoin and Caoimhe at this very sad time.””
