NUI Galway played host to a day for second level schools where 1st years came to play Camogie and new schools had the chance to learn the skills of the game. Eight teams from Galway city and county participated on the day with over 130 girls playing the game. Participants came from schools such as New Inn, Loughrea, St.Cuans of Castleblakney, Kinvara and the Presentation Athenry. Two new schools form Galway city took part- Galway community College and Presentation secondary school. Students from NUI Galways’ camogie team helped with coaching and refereeing on the day. Thanks to all that contributed to the day and thanks to NUI Galway for hosting the event. The day proved enjoyable for all and each girl went home with a æCamogie Rocks’ t-shirt.
