The fourth U10 co. go-games blitz took place last Saturday in the ideal location of the newly refurbished Holycross/Ballycahill GAA facilities.
Fourteen clubs and 18 teams were in action and the young players enjoyed two hours of constant game time. Each club played three games with each game being 24 minutes (3×8 min) ensuring that all the participants had loads of fun and had ample opportunity to practice their skills.
All clubs are to be commended on the spirit in which the games were played and underage camogie in the County was undoubtedly the winner on the day. The clubs that took part were from all over Tipperary and included Annacarty/Donohill, Ballina, Boherlahan/Dualla, Borrisoleigh, Cahir, Clonoulty/Rossmore, Drom/Inch, Holycross/Ballycahill, Moycarkey/Borris, Nenagh, New Inn, Portroe, Roscrea and Thurles.
Thanks to those who helped in anyway with the blitzes throughout the year and to the GAA clubs for the use of their facilities. All clubs that took part in any of the blitzes are asked to email a list of their u10 players to Siobhßn Ryan (siobhryan1@hotmail.com) in order to receive their personalised certificates in recognition of their participation.
Coach Education
Well done to the following club coaches who completed the ‘Get a Grip’ Foundation Level coaching course recently.
The participants were Michelle O’Brien, Sally Casey, Caroline Kirby, and Pattie Costigan (Cahir), Anna Gough, Maeve McEvoy and BrÝd McMahon (Ballina), John Moloney and Sharon Whelan (Roscrea), Michael McGrath (Kilruane), Pat McCormack and Niamh Gleeson (Toomevara) and Una Teehan (Moneygall).
The participants travelled to Thurles Sarsfields Social Centre over two Monday nights and were tutors by Damian Young and Siobhßn Ryan.
Thanks to Thurles Sarsfields for the use of their facilities. This group of newly qualified coaches will continue to be a huge asset to their clubs and the County and will ensure that the juvenile standards in Tipperary continue to improve.
VHI C·l Camps
All clubs are asked to contact Siobhßn Ryan (0861900531) with the number of girls that that particpated in the camp in their own club area (in Gaelic football and/camogie).
This is important as an increase since last year will ensure that funding is received for the County for games development initiatives.
