New adult Camogie Club Clanmaurice played their first match in glorious sunshine at Austin Stack Park in Tralee last week in a challenge game with the Kerry Co.Minor team.

31 girls from the parishes of North Kerry, along with girls from Dublin and Cork who have migrated to the Kingdom, enjoyed their first game with the young guns at the famed grounds.

Thanks to Kerry GAA Co.Board for facilitating training at both the Caherslee Co.Board  grounds and  the match at Austin Stack Park.

Lixnaw Camogie Club has also been recently established and the famed North Kerry hurling club is now catering for both juvenile and adult camogie. The club will have its official launch on Sun July 24th which will be followed by a friendly 7 a side between Clanmaurice and Lixnaw adults.

Both new clubs are keen to enjoy some summer hurling so if there are any junior clubs out there that feel like a trip to Kerry or would like to invite the teams to play a challenge or tournament, please contact; Clanmaurice: Fiona Casey 087 4168090

Lixnaw: Karen McKenna 087 9234620.

These clubs contain a mixture of complete beginners and girls who played when they were younger so it is also an ideal opportunity if there are people out there in other counties who would like to take up camogie and set up their own adult section.

Kerry Camogie will host a tournament on the weekend of Oct 22nd, Sponsored by the Imperial Hotel Tralee where we will invite beginner/junior clubs as well as an over 35’s/Legends competition so start rounding up your former team mates and keep that weekend free!!

Further details will be available shortly.
