The launch of this year’s Ashbourne and Purcell third-level camogie competitions will take place in Cork Institute of Technology on Monday 8th February at 6.00pm. This is the first time that both competitions will be jointly hosted and marks a new and exciting venture for Cumann Cam¾gaÝochta na nGael.

Uachtarßn Cumann Cam¾gaÝochta na nGael, Joan O’Flynn, Munster GAA Chairman Jerry O’Sullivan and Uachtarßn Comhairle Chamogaiochta Ard-Oideachas, Lynn Kelly will be amongst those attending Monday’s event.

Speaking about this year’s competitions Uachtarßn Cumann Cam¾gaÝochta na nGael Joan O’Flynn: “”Congratulations to Cork Institute of Technology and Comhairle ChamogaÝochta don Ard Oideachas (CCAO) for their initiative to bring together the premier Colleges’ competitions – the Ashbourne and Purcell Cups – and host them at the one venue for the first time. This ensures that the best Camogie players and teams from all over Ireland are united in competing for the All-Ireland titles of Colleges’ Camogie””.

All-Ireland winning captain Amanda O’Reagan, fellow Cork stars Jenny Duffy, Emer Farrell and Eimear O’Sullivan as well Waterford I.T. student and Kilkenny captain Ann Dalton will also be attending the launch.

This year’s Ashbourne Cup sees holders WIT face UUJ while double winners UCD take on UCC on the weekend of February 20th and 21st.
