Camogie Association fixtures change

In an effort to facilitate dual players in Cork and Clare The Camogie Association has re-scheduled the fourth round meeting of Clare and Wexford in the Gala All Ireland Camogie Championship from Saturday July 3rd to Sunday July 4th.

This is part of ongoing efforts by the Camogie Association to facilitate dual stars involved in both Camogie and Ladies football this weekend.  Ulster Camogie Council has already agreed to postpone this year’s Intermediate Ulster final between Cavan and Armagh which was due to take place on Sunday July 4th also.

The Camogie Association met officially with the Ladies Gaelic Football Association in November 2009 to co-ordinate both fixtures calendars with the agreement that camogie fixtures would be played on Saturdays and ladies football on Sundays.

President of the Association Joan O’Flynn said “”It is in the interest of both Associations to facilitate our dual players, their managements, county boards and supporters alike.””
