RT+ and Camogie Association Media Award winners presented

 

The Camogie Association Media Awards in conjunction with RT+ were presented at Croke Park on Saturday night (March 5th).

The Irish Examiner led the way picking up the RT+ Mick Dunne Memorial award for National Coverage of Camogie while Wexford journalist Dean Goodison received the award for Published Work for his book æI Gotta Feeling’ which recounted the county’s 2010 All Ireland winning camogie season. Barbara Ryan, Wexford PRO was awarded PRO of the Year while Sports photographer Caroline Quinn picked up the Photograph of the Year award.

President of the Camogie Association Joan O’Flynn, Ryle Nugent, Group Head of RT+ Sport and Lily Dunne, wife of the late Mick Dunne presented the awards to eight recipients who were acknowledged for their outstanding work promoting and publicising camogie

This is the fifth year of the Camogie Association RT+ Mick Dunne Memorial Awards.

The Camogie Association Media Awards were presented to Clare FM (Local Radio); the Offaly Express (Provincial Newspaper); Dublin Camogie Board (Website) and Armagh County Camogie Board (Programme).

Speaking about the Camogie Association Media Awards President Joan O’Flynn:
“”The Camogie Association and RT+ Mick Dunne Memorial Awards are an important event on the camogie calendar each year. The awards are hugely important in recognising the enormous contribution that regional and national press and Association members make to the promotion of our game.

Tonight, we honour the outstanding work of those who are here to receive awards and acknowledge the fantastic work they do to further boost the profile of camogie.

On this night, the eve of our All Ireland Club Finals, the Camogie Association is delighted to celebrate the achievements of those, who work so tirelessly off the pitch publicising, all of the action on it.””

ò This is the fifth year of the Camogie Association Media Awards incorporating the Mick Dunne Memorial Awards sponsored by RT+. Mick Dunne made an enormous contribution to the coverage of Gaelic Games, particularly camogie. He gave the game extensive coverage in print, radio and television.
