The Camogie Association are holding their annual Congress in Hotel Westport, Westport, Co. Mayo on Friday and Saturday, March 22nd and 23rd.
The Minister for Sport, Michael Ring will attend the Association’s annual congress dinner on Saturday night, as guest of honour while the CEO of the Irish Sports Council, John Treacy is scheduled to address delegates on Saturday morning followed by President of the Camogie Association Aileen Lawlor.
It has also been confirmed that Westport Town Council, will hold a civic reception in honour of the Association’s annual congress on (tonight) Thursday, March 21st at 6.00pm in Westport Town Council offices.
Congress proceedings will commence on Friday evening, with a full round of workshops and presentations. On Saturday afternoon, delegates will consider a list of motions, amongst them a proposal that all units, move to an individual membership system. At present all affiliated units currently pay a unit based membership fee.
