Connacht first Year 'A' finals
Presentation Athenry were crowned first year 'A' champions in sunny Loughrea on May 15th. It was a hugely competitive game played in excellent conditions. Athenry started brightly and always seems to have a little more upfront over their opponents Gort. Athenry built up a 3-point lead at halftime and while Gort battled hard to the very end Athenry ran out victors.
Thanks to Loughrea GAA for providing the facilities, to the referee Noel Gavin and to Donal Burke and Fiona Page (Connacht schools committee).

Roscommon Activity Day
Roscommon held an 'activity day' at the Connacht Centre of Excellence on Wednesday, May 16th. This initiative involved boys and girls in 5th and 6th class from all over the county coming together to practice a range of skills and play small sided games. With over 250 players participating on the day it was a huge success. Players were spilt into teams to play small sided games for an hour and they then switched down to the skills stations. The skills practiced on the day included – target practice, relay races, fundamentals with beanbags, hand-eye coordination and rounders. The kids had a great day and the teachers also enjoyed all the activities. Many thanks to Connacht COE for the use of the facilities. Thanks to the schools for attending, TY's for refereeing games and helping with the skills stations, Prionsious Keelen, Michael Carroll and Willie Hegerty (Roscommon GAA) for organising and coordinating the day.
