The ‘Camßn – Get A Grip’ course is aimed at coaches/parents who are starting coaching for the first time or who have been coaching for a while but do not have any qualifications.

The course lasted 10 hours and was run over 2 evenings in the excellent facilities of Dernakesh NS.

The course modules included

  • The Role Of A Coach
  • The Hurley and Grips
  • Skill Development
  • Fundamental Skills
  • Mini Games / Go Games
  • Planning A Session

And much more

Having completed the course the particpants are now qualified to coach Camogie to girls up to the age of 10 years.

This will be particularly useful as all the qualifying coaches are from either, newly formed or reforming clubs (Drumgoon, Kill and Bailieborough) and the main purpose for them attending the course was to help out with the growing u
nderage sections of their clubs.

The course was really enjoyed by all the coaches and they would encourage any parent or beginner coach to book a place on the ‘Camßn – Get A Grip’ course.

Here are some of their comments below:

‘Very enjoyable, lots of new ideas, Thank You’

‘Very enjoyable course, I learned new coaching skills and have come away with lots of new games and drills’

‘Really enjoyed this course, looking forward to putting my new skills into action’
