Clare Camogie finished their year in style with their inaugural Awards Night in the Auburn Lodge Hotel in Ennis last Saturday Night. The awards were jointly hosted by the County Board and The Supporters Club which was also celebrating 75 years of Camogie in the Banner.

These awards were presented to club players for the work and dedication that they give to ensuring the survival and development of clubs in the county. Young Hurler of the Year Darrach Honan was on hand to do the presentation and all were delighted that the young Clonlara player took time out from his club celebrations to be with the girls on the night (Clonlara had only hours before won the Clare Champion Cup county final).
Fr. Liam Murray was presented with a special award for his 50 years of service to Camogie and Kitty McNicholas was presented with the Clare Camogie Hall of Fame Award.
Players from the Munster U16 winning Squad and U14 Inter County Squad were also presented with medals.
This was certainly a night to remember with 250 people attending. The link between Club and Board has been built and now it is for Clare Camogie to build on this.
