Foundation Course in Carlow
A full foundation course was completed on Saturday 10th March in Kildavin GAA, Carlow, delivered by tutor Donal Ryan This day had 22 coaches from 9 clubs complete the programme and achieve their foundation certificate. This is the second foundation course ran in Carlow in 2018 and it is encouraging to see the club coaches increasing their knowledge, as this will only benefit the club players in the future. Thanks to Kildavin GAA for the use of their facilities and also to the tutor and participants on the day.

Peter Casey presents Coaching Workshops
The brand new facilities in the Faithful Fields, Kilcormac, Co.Offaly was the venue for a workshop delivered by Peter Casey of Clare to club and county coaches from a range of clubs on Monday 12th March. Members of the county u16 panels were involved on the night as Peter put them through their paces on the technique of striking, adding intensity to the session and coaching players to use footwork and wristwork to become more efficient as players.

Many thanks to the coaches who attended on the night and the u16 players who were excellent and hopefully benefitted also. Thanks also to Offaly GAA for the use of the fantastic facilities on the night. Offaly Camogie have a series of upcoming workshops for coaches in the county and are looking to build on the recent coaching courses ran in the county.

Leinster THDC Training
On Tuesday 13th March, 22 participants attended the THDC Training in Leinster GAA Offices, Portlaoise. This evening was about providing those on THDC committees and county boards with information on the procedures in place for the different aspects of the THDC. With realistic and practical scenarios played out, those in attendance got to work through the ways in which to deal with different circumstances and items to keep in mind when dealing with cases brought forward. Many thanks to Eilis Kavanagh and Melanie Ni Dhuinn for the excellent delivery and to all those in attendance.
