Safeguarding

Two safeguarding workshops took place in Galway on January 22nd and February 11th in Galway Community College.

This workshop was open to both hurling and Camogie with 80 people in attendance over the two nights.

The next safeguarding workshop in Galway will take place in Galway Community College on February 25th.

Workshops

Three ‘Club Volunteer Learning Workshops’ took place in Galway on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th of January. 

These GAA workshops were open to coaches from both hurling and Camogie. Over 350 attended in total with excellent feedback from all three venues. Guest speakers included Paudie Butler, Ollie Canning, Eamon O Shea, Damien Quigley, Pat Moore, Jeff Lynskey and Martin Fogarty.

Courses

Two hurling/camogie foundation level coaching courses have taken place in Galway recently. 

42 participants took part in Labane, Ardrahan on February 2nd with a further 30 completing the course in Salthill on the same day.

Eyrecourt will host a foundation course on Saturday February 16th. This course is completely booked out. Tutors Donal Ryan and Ted Walsh. 

Mayo will host a foundation course on Saturday 23rd of February in Brackloon School in Westport. Places are limited. To make a booking please contact the Mayo county secretary. Tutor is Ger Cribbon.

A ‘first whistlers’ referees course will take place in the Plaza Hotel in Westport on Friday February 22nd. Please contact the Mayo county secretary to make a booking. Tutor is John McDonagh
