Mum & Me Programmes
Round Towers Dublin
Above pictured participants of the Mum & Me Programme in Round Towers Dublin. 16 mums are taking part in a Mum & Me programme currently ongoing in the club. This programme encourages mums to learn the basic skills of the game and then they coach their daughters the skills. For more information on this programme contact eve@camogie.ie

New club prospect for County Down
An indoor session took place on the 21st March in Drumaness Co Down to see if a new club is viable in the area. 23 girls and 12 parents/coaches attended the start up  session so there is great interest in camogie in the area. Camogie sessions will continue indoor every Saturday. For more information contact gerard@camogie.ie
 
 
In more new from County Down, an integrated schools coaching and Games session took place in Newbridge College Loughbrickland, County Down on 19th March. 35 girls were involved in the session with the PE students helping with the coaching on the day.

National Health and Wellbeing Seminar
The first National Health and Wellbeing Seminar took place in Croke Park on Saturday last the 22nd March. Conor Cusack member of the National Health and well being committee provided the keynote address on the day with a very interesting and thought provoking address to those at the conference. The National Health and Wellbeing committee members include Ciaran McLoughlin as chairperson and Colin Regan as secretary. Other members include Fiona Teague and Cathal Hand from Ulster, Conor Cusack and Janas Harrington from Munster, Susan Kenny and Brendan Doody from Leinster and Justin Cambell and Aoife lane from Connacht. Others speakers at the conference included Biddy O Neill from the HSE, Fiona Teague chairperson of the Tyrone Health and Wellbeing committee and Janas Harrington healthy club project Leader with St.Finbarrs club in Cork.

Workshops on the day included:
-Contributing to mental health in the GAA community
-Drug and Alcohol Awareness
-Community Outreach- work of the GAA social Initiative & Inclusion and Integration
-Responding to Critical Incidents in the GAA
-Governance and Action Planning for GAA Health & Wellbeing Committees
 
 
Each GAA county has appointed a county Health and Wellbeing Officer and each county are required to have a committee in relation to this.
 
Ulster U13 Blitz huge success
An under 13 Blitz held in Meadowbank Sports Arena in Magherafelt on Sunday last the 23rd March was an amazing success. This was Ulster camogies first under 13 Blitz with 230 participants from Antrim, Derry, Donegal and Down clubs. This was a fun and inclusive blitz with 17 teams represented by 14 clubs. There was a total of 40 games played in the 2 hours with all teams showing great team work and skill levels. Well done to all involved!
 
Wexford Workshop
A workshop entitled ‘Games based approach to training’ took place in Wexford on Monday 24th March. 26 coaches attended the workshop held in Rathgarogue/Cushinstown club. Thanks to the county under 16’s for participating in the session and for the coaches that came as weather conditions were not good on the evening!
 
Referee Course
Over 30 referees attended a Referee Course in Loughrea, Galway on Thursday 20th March. Referees from 18 different Galway clubs attended and 1 Referee from Manorhamilton Leitrim also attended on the night. Peter Downey chairperson of the National Referees Committee was tutor on the night. The exam will take place on Thursday April 17th at the same venue.

Tyrone Cumann na mBunscol
A cumann na mBunscol primary school blitz will take place in Primate Dixon Primary school in Coalisland Co. Tyrone on 28th March next. For more information contact gerard@camogie.ie
 
 
Camán Get a Grip Course Derry
23 coaches attended a Camán Get a Grip foundation coaching course in Kilrea Co. Derry on Saturday the 22nd of March. The participants came from a number of clubs in derry. Topics covered on the course included Role of the Coach, the correct Hurley length and grips, skill development and fundamental movement skills. Thanks to Kilrea for the use of their excellent facilities and the food provided on the course.
