Phase 2 of the Under 15 competition will take place in Portlaoise Laois on Saturday the 4th October next. 5 counties and 6 teams will take part on the day. Counties include: Westmeath, Wicklow, Carlow, Laois and Kildare. This is the first year of a competitive structure at this age group. Phase 1 of the competition took place in Portlaoise on 30th August with Cork winning the Cup and Antrim winning the shield on the day. Fixtures for Saturday are detailed below.

Meelin Coaching Workshop
A coaching workshop took place in one of Cork’s newest clubs Meelin on Tuesday 30th September. The workshop covered coaching u12s and how to progress girls from drills in to games based situations and was taken by Munster RDO Ross Corbett. Well done to all the girls involved and the club for their great work in their 1st year.

Laois 1st Year secondary school Blitz
Five teams took part in the 1st year blitz held in Fr.Brown Avenue Portlaoise today Wednesday the 1st October. Well done to all the girls who participated from schools including Scoil Criost Ri, Mountrath Community School, Heywood college and St.Fergals secondary school.

Munster Colleges 7’s Competitions
On Wednesday October 1st Munster colleges 7’s competitions take place for under 16 ½  in a number of venues around the province. In total the competitions cater for 34 schools with 48 teams competing for 7 different trophies. Well done to Munster Colleges Servicing Officer Esther O Leary for her organisation of the Blitzes.

Ø  NUIG ‘Sport agus Sproai’ Event
National university of Ireland Galway will host a second year 7 a side Camogie blitz for secondary schools in Connacht.

Ø  AIT Student Camogie Workshop         
A basic skills workshop has been organised with the Athlone IT sport and recreation students to give them an insight into the basic skills of the game. This workshop will take place in the college on the 3rd October. The students will then have the opportunity to coach those skills to the group. Contact lflynn@camogie.ie for more information
 
 
Ø  1st Year Blitz Meath
The blitz has been organised to give first year girls an opportunity to participate in the game in the first few weeks of them entering secondary school. The blitz will take place in Dunganny Meath on the 8th October. For more information contact lflynn@camogie.ie
 
Ø  Code of Ethics Course
A Code of Ethics Course will take place in Kilcormack Community Centre Offaly on Monday 13th October. The course will cost €10 per person. Contact lflynn@camogie.ie to book a place on the course.
 
Ø  Westmeath 1st Year Blitz
Westmeath County Camogie Boards along with RDO Lizzie Flynn have organised a 1st year Camogie 7 a-side competition for the first time. Secondary schools from Westmeath have been invited to bring teams on the day. The blitz will take place on 14th October in St. Lomans GAA Club, Mullingar. Teams are to be made up of panels of no more than 10 players and schools can bring a number of teams if they wish. Thanks to funding from Leinster Camogie Council winning schools will receive a cup, medals and a special camogie t-shirt marking the Camogie Associations 110 Celebrations.
