Board Notes for week starting 5 October, 2009

Congratulations to Skerries Harps who won this year’s Senior B championship by narrowly defeating a battling Naomh Brid at Craobh Chiarain grounds at Clonshaugh on Saturday. Our thanks to Craobh Chiarain for the use of their facilities.

Tough luck on Naomh Mearnog who lost to a very good and determined Oulart- the- Ballagh side in this year’s Leinster championship semi-final.  Well done to the Naomh Mearnog club for their hospitality and on the excellent organisation of the day.

Juvenile semi-finals will take place on the week-end 10/11 October. All the finals will be hosted by Naomh Brid on the weekend 17/18 October.

Div.2 and Div. 3 of FÚile will be played on Sunday, 25 October and Monday 26 October. Games will be played as per original schedule.

Well done to the Management Committee on their organisation of the leagues and championships and to our clubs for their co-operation which allows us to complete our competitions on schedule.

We can now look forward to presentation nights and Convention.

Convention 2009 takes place on Saturday, 28 November. Now is the time for clubs to get cracking if they have suggestions, ideas etc. they wish to submit to Convention.

Camog-Aerobics is a new initiative to learn the basic skills of Camogie in a fun environment combined with an element of aerobic fitness.  It is aimed mainly at the mothers of daughters playing the game. A pilot class will begin in Good Counsel GAA Club on Tuesday 6th October from 8-9pm and will run for 6 weeks on the same day and time each week.

The Board extends its deepest sympathy to Cathy Fay and family of Skerries Harps and former Fixtures Secretary on the death of her mother, Vera.

Sincerest sympathy to former Dublin PRO Mßire UÝ ScolaÝ on the death of her father.
