Meath Camogie finishes off their camogie year with the Under 21 Final which was played on Friday night the 4th December at 8pm in Ratoath GAA Grounds, in what were miserable conditions, wind and rain made it a challenge for all players to compete at their best.

Dunboyne 1-10   Blackhall Gaels 0-3

Half Time Score: Dunboyne 0-3      BHG 0-3

Dunboyne capture the Under 21 Title with 10 points to spare against Blackhall Gaels.  Fiona O’Neill Dunboyne made some impressive runs in on the Blackhall defense, were it not for the skills of Emily Mangan at full back and goalie Amy Crosbie for Blackhall, Dunboyne may have had a few more scores on the board. While Dunboyne were piling on the pressure it was Jane Dolan from Blackhall who broke the dead lock with a well taken point from play, this was followed shortly by a point from Kristina Troy.  Blackhall Gaels seemed to have turned things around and looked dangerous when in attack.  Sinead Hackett Dunboyne made a solo run from her defense line up the field only to be hooked by Kristina Troy just at the right time to give Blackhall another edge. Jane Dolan secured another point from play in the 16th minute, and this proved to be their last score of the game.  This competition is 13 a side, with the playing conditions so bad it made it hard for both sides to play to their potential. It was not until the 20th & 23rd minutes that Dunboyne got their first scores two points from frees by Aoife Thompson and Fiona O’Neill levelled things just before half time with a point from play.

The second half was all Dunboyne as Blackhall found it hard to find any form or prove a danger to Dunboyne, Aoife Thompson who received player of the match excelled during this half and her contribution certainly helped Dunboyne to victory as did Leanne Hayes goal 4 minutes in on the second half. Aine Keogh, sinead Hackett & Emma Doherty were also impressive for their team. While Jane Dolan , Emily Mangan, Holly Geraghty & Amy Crosbie impresed for Blackhall Gaels.

After the match Terry Tormey prsented the cup to Dunboyne Captain Aine Keogh.
