The Camogie Association ran an Emotional Well-being pilot programme earlier this year coordinated by Aideen Howlin of the Camogie Association and Timmy Hamersley, an athletic performance coach and former All-Ireland Hurling Champion with Tipperary.

There was a huge interest in this programme, with 90 clubs registering. The programme aimed to provide clubs with the information and resources to support the emotional well-being of its members.

Eight clubs were selected to take part in a two-day workshop. The first workshop focused on emotional well-being from an individual perspective, while the second workshop looked at it from a club point of view.

One participant described the programme as

“An incredibly valuable experience, with a great blend of existing best practices and innovative new ideas, drawn from a range of sources and curated to meet the needs of local Camogie Clubs.”

While another said it was

“Very interesting to talk to people who have the same interest and ideas to promote and develop well-being within their club.”

This two-page document which was developed from our workshops with the aim of supporting clubs and their members around Emotional Well-being, contains various initiatives that can be implemented in your club.
