The details have been confirmed for the Liberty Insurance All-Ireland Senior Championship Quarter-Finals which will take place in Semple Stadium, Thurles on Saturday August 3rd.
In the first match of the double-header Limerick will take on Tipperary at 5.30pm. This is Limerick's first time reaching the knockout stages of the Senior Championship after they came third in Group 1 after losing their last two matches to Galway and Kilkenny. They'll take on Tipp who reached the Semi-Finals in 2018. Their only dropped points of the group stage came in a defeat to reigning All-Ireland champions Cork.
The second match sees Galway face Waterford at 7.15pm. 2019 National League champions Galway came second in Group 1 with a defeat to Kilkenny on the opening weekend being the only dropped points of their campaign. They face a Waterford side who have now reached the Quarter-Finals in successive seasons having made the breakthrough last year. The Déise came third in Group 2 having suffered defeats to Cork and Tipperary, but also having won their other three fixtures.
Both matches will be broadcast live on RTÉ Two as well as the RTÉ Player International and should either match end in a draw then extra-time will be played.
The winners of these ties will go into the Semi-Final draw which will take place imemdiately after the Quarter-Finals where Cork and Kilkenny lie in wait to face them on Saturday August 17th.
