Galway came out on top of a hard-fought clash with Kildare to retain their All-Ireland Under 16A Championship title in Radley Park, Leixlip yesterday. Galway raced into a five point lead at half-time, and although KIlkenny narrowed the gap during hte second halh it was Galway whp prevailed by a five point margin with Siobhán McGrath starring throughout and picking up the Player of the Match award.
In the All-Ireland Under 16C Championship Final Kildare overcame Carlow by just three points in a tight encounter to claime their very first Under 16C title. Kildare led by only a point at half-time by 1-5 to 1-4 but built on this lead to hold on for victory with Laoise Dunne proving to be one of their key players as she claimed the Player of the Match Award.
