It's crunch time in Divisions 1 to 3 of the Irish  Daily Star National League as the final round of fixtures will be played out to decide the exact line-up of the semi-finals.

Division 1 sees the top two teams, Limerick and Cork trying to secure their unbeaten records against a disappointed Offaly and a winless Derry, respectively. As the hosts however, Offaly and Derry will be playing for pride on their home turf against the top teams. The top division also bring us exciting action in two games that could decide the semi-finals. It’s winner takes all between Galway and Wexford in Group 1 where a draw would be enough for Galway to progress to the semi-final. This should be a closely contested match-up and is our feature game of the weekend. In Group 2, should Kilkenny avoid defeat then they will progress to the semi-final as runners-up of the group. A win for Clare however would see all of three of Clare, Dublin and Kilkenny entering into a draw to see which two teams’ head-to-head records will decide who qualifies! It’s all still to play for!

In Division 2, Group 1 is the most tightly contested group with all six teams having managed at least one win. Kildare and Laois will look to assert their dominance and maintain their qualifying spots as they host bottom sides Antrim and Meath, respectively. Also in Group 1, Galway host Wexford who are both competing for 3rd place and an outside chance at qualifying. In Group 2, an impressive Waterford side travel to Down hoping to make it 5 wins from. Third place Cork travel to take on second place Kilkenny in what should be a qualification decider, where a draw would see Kilkenny progress. Meath are the dark horses in Group 2 and can still qualify provided Cork beat Kilkenny. Should that occur then three of Cork, Meath and Kilkenny will all also enter a draw to see which two teams’ head-to-head records will decide who qualifies!

Division 3 sees a very competitive last round of fixtures with the top four teams playing for their semi-final seedings. An unbeaten Dublin will host a Limerick side who need to win in order to move up the table from the final semi-final spot. The more exciting of the two games is between Carlow and Roscommon. Both on equal points, the winner of this tie may yet top the group.

And finally, in Division 4 Meath will need to secure victory over Cavan in order to have any hope of making the semi-final before the last round of matches in Division 4 in the coming weeks.

One thing’s is for sure in this last round of the Irish Daily Star National League group games – after this action packed weekend we will have our semi-finalists. Be sure to get yourselves to one of the games over the long weekend!!
