Close to 100 participants from 11 counties attended the training day for club and county officers organised by the Leinster Camogie Provincial Council. The event which was the first of its kind organised by any Provincial Council was held in The Heritage Hotel in Portlaoise on Saturday (8th March ).Presentations were made by Cathaoirleach of Leinster Council Rachel Hogan, former Chair Catherine Neary and Chair of the Leinster Transfers Hearings and Disciplinery Committee (THDC) Richard Mullholland. The roles of officers, conduct of meetings and compliance with good governance were among the areas covered on the programme.
Cathaoirleach of Leinster Council Rachel Hogan commented:
"Good organisation is a feature of the Camogie Association and it is important that we continue to improve. Running our affairs efficiently and effectively is crucial to delivering our aims and objectives. I was most encouraged by the large attendance at what was a first such event and by the positive reaction of those present.
