Coaching Opportunities

The joint Level 1 coaching course held between Carlow and Wicklow County boards kicked off last weekend, with the first Friday and Saturday held in Aughrim and Annacurra. The final Saturday this coming week sees the course completed in Presentation de la Salle, Bagnalstown. Well done to the 15 coaches on this course and thanks to the venues for the use of facilities. This joint up approach between the two counties has proven very successful over the past two years.

Camogie4Teens revisits Wexford

Following on from the Camogie4Teens programme of 2017, Wexford camogie have decided to run the initiative internally within their county over the coming March and April. The aim of this unique program is to provide targeted workshops/course's for club teenagers. It should be seen as a great opportunity for clubs to retain players, recruit coaches for nurseries and get involved in the future of the club in other activities such as administration or refereeing in order to increase lifelong involvement.   The Camogie 4 Teens program provides the opportunity for girls to get an experience of how Camogie operates outside of just playing. The programme has been outlined as below for 16-18year old players to register their interest for in Wexford

March 12th;   Introduction meeting;   Outline from previous group
March 19th;   PRO workshop
March 26th;   First Whistle Course
April 2nd;       Player Lifestyle workshop
April 6th;        Foundation Course  –  Saturday – a Full day
April 16th;      Event Management workshop
April 28th;      Blitz Day – Saturday 10.00am – 1.00pm

The following are Referee Development opportunities occurring within the province currently.
Wicklow will run their First Whistle course on the 27th March in Ballinakill, any young referees interested should contact the county development officer through their club secretary. This is the perfect opportunity to get involved and trained up before the Go Games season kicks off.
