Coaching Opportunities
There has been several coaching courses and opportunities for coaches to learn in the opening months of 2019.

In Laois, 9 club coaches went onto complete their Level 1 coaching qualification in January. We hope to now see these put their new knowledge to the test in the coming season and congrats to all involved, with thanks to our tutors for delivering and to Camross Community Hall and St.Philomenas for the use of the facilitates.

In Dublin, a Level 1 was hosted by O’Dwyers, Balbriggan with 21 coaches from several clubs taking part. It is fantastic to see O’Dwyers involved in hosting this course as one of our new clubs to emerge in 2018 who are going from strength to strength – keep up the great work.

On Wednesday 23rd January, 44 coaches attended a Ball Wall Workshop delivere3d by Martin Fogarty in Cullion GAA. This was aimed at coaches of players 12-14years and was a huge success on the night, with a coaching session followed by a full Q&A’s. Many thanks to Martin for his time and passion and to the facilities provided on the night. Special thanks to the 24 girls who wished to take part in the session and it’s hoped they too took away some information for their game.

On Saturday 2nd February a Foundation coaching course ran in Clonkill GAA also.

In Kilkenny, Mooncoin Camogie ran their own coaching workshop within the club on 29th January with Paudie Butler as the invited coach to deliver the session. Well done to all to attended and hopefully they brought ideas away for their own coaching arsenal.

Keep an Eye for: Leinster Junior Novice Secondary School Development Blitz
As secondary schools enjoy their mid-term break this week, I ask all teachers/coaches in the schools who do not currently compete in Leinster Post Primary competition to keep an eye out for this years’ Development Initiative that may be of interest to your school. An invite email and letter will be sent to all eligible schools in the next 2 weeks, inviting them to take part in this 1st-3rd year blitz initiative. Whether your school is just starting camogie for the first time or if trying to build on last year’s great work, I would encourage you all to consider coming along. Contact sabrina.larkin@camogie.ie for more info.
