Linda Kenny (Carlow) is the Camogie Recipient of GAA President’s Award

The GAA have announced the recipients for Gradaim an Uachtaráin 2021 and this year’s Camogie recipient is Linda Kenny from Burren Rangers Hurling & Camogie Club.

TG4 will be broadcasting the Gradaim an Uachtaráin / GAA President’s Awards programme on Sunday afternoon at 5.10pm (Sunday 28 February) where Linda will be recognised with her award.

The Carlow native has devoted many years to the promotion and development of Camogie in both Carlow and Leinster serving in several executive positions along the way.

In 2009 Linda became fixtures secretary of Carlow Camogie and since then has been fundamental to the rebuilding of the county Camogie set up. She has served as county secretary for five years and is the currently holding the role of chairperson.

In 2017 Linda was appointed by Leinster GAA as Camogie Representative to the Féile Organising Committee and served as PRO. Throughout 2017 Linda and the organising committee worked tirelessly to ensure what was one of the most successful Féile na Gael’s on record, with the largest number of hurling and Camogie teams participating ever.

In 2018 Linda took on the role of Leinster secretary and at the recent Leinster AGM, Linda was elected as Uachtarán Tofa and will take up the post in April 2021.

These prestigious annual awards are organised with the support of AIB and broadcast by TG4.
