Therese Maher was awarded the Connacht GAA writers personality of the year, the Michael McDonnell Memorial Award at the Connacht GAA awards for the inspirational role she played at centre back for the Galway Senior team in 2013.
 
Connacht GAA celebrated the achievements of their various players and teams of 2013 at the annual Connacht GAA Provincial Awards Banquet held in the McWilliams Park Hotel Claremorris. In all, 53 awards were presented to Camogie, Ladies Gaelic, Mens Gaelic, Hurling, and Referees.
 
In Camogie awards were presented to Lorraine Ryan as Senior Player of the year, Tara Kenny as Intermediate player of the year and Catriona Morris from Roscommon was awarded Junior Player of the Year.
 
For his role in bringing two All Ireland Camogie titles to Connacht, Tony Ward was presented with a special achievement award.
