Meath had their third win in a row in their National League Div 4 campaign against Carlow today and trainer John Davis will be at this stage setting his sights on  reaching the  National League division 4 final in April.
Meath were playing against a strong breeze in the first half but both teams piled on the pressure in the opening five minutes, it was Carlow who got the opening score coming from Anne Marie Ralf .    Aoife Thompson cleared her lines on a number of occasion for Meath in the first half.  Jane Dolan put over Meath’s opening score in the 8th minute a point from a free, this was closely followed by another point , a free from Aileen Donnelly.   Carlow’s Niamh Quirke closed in on the Meath goal, her strike was dually saved  by the Meath goalie Emily Mangan she was helped with good defensive play from Maura Keogh.  Carlow’s Margaret Coady got their second point in the 10th Minute .  Jane Dolan put over from a free but was not until the 22nd minute that Meath got the first score from play coming from Jane Dolan.   Aileen put over from a  45 m free.  Dolan who has proved to Meath’s danger girl gave a pass to Lizzy Lynch to add another point form play.   Aine Keogh who moved into full forward followed on to give give Jane Dolan the ball which she popped over the bar.  Carlows Valarie Crean pointed from a free. 
 
The second half Meath seemed to be more alert , Laura Flynn had a great game at centre field , Sinead Hackett gave Jane dolan a vital pass to give Meath the opening score of the second half.   Carlow were awarded a free pointed by Valarie Crean, this was followed by a point from  Meath’s Anne Marie Fagan .  Carlow had some poor puck outs in the second half which gave meath great opportunities.   Jane Dolan got the first goal of the game a move started by Lizzy Lynch.  Carlow were a physical side but  Meath counteracted upon this by introducing Stephanie Horan & Edel Guy into the back line ,  but it was Dolan and Lynch who combined well to get Meath’s second goal coming from Lizzy Lynch.  The score of the game was a well taken point from play by Laura Flynn.  Lizzy Lynch put over again, followed by a point from Laura Flynn.

Meath 3-7  to Louth 3-2  – Played in Knockbridge, Louth  Saturday 8th March at 12 noon.
 
Half time score : Meath 2-6  Louth 1-1
 
 
Meath Under 16 team had a tough game against Louth in Knockbridge on Saturday . They weather & under foot conditions had allot to play in the out come of this game ,  With High winds and rain and a poor pitch Meath came out on top with a 5 point margin.
 
This was Meaths first game of the year, and a number of players played well , Ashling O’Reilly, Kristina Troy, Lisa Foley & Ashling Fagan.  Meath were playing with the wind in the first half, putting up a score of 2-6 certainly helped them as the had it all to do in the second half against the strong breeze.
