Building on the first year of the female coach mentorship programme, Phase 2 sees the programme focus on Sports Science practitioners.

Just as is the case within the Gaelic Games coaching population, the field of sports science is also dominated by males. This phase of the Female Mentorship Programme will recruit a maximum of 12 practitioners across the Sports Sciences, specifically, athlete development, nutrition, sports psychology, physiotherapy, performance analysis but it is also open to any Sports Science Practitioner as long as they are currently working within a Gaelic Games context.

The Gaelic Games Sports Science Working Group was founded in 2020 and produced the Sports Science Framework in 2023. This framework is the first of its kind in Gaelic Games and provides guidance for coaches, administrators and practitioners in relation to what sports science support should look like at each stage of the player pathway.

· Opportunities to grow your professional network
