A second level Indoor Blitz was held in Davitt College Castlebar new facilities on monday the 14th March 2011. The Blitz was for first year students and 3 schools from Mayo took part and one school from Carrick on Shannon Leitrim. Approximately 60 girls took part in the day. Schools from Maypo included Sacred Heart Westport, Ballyhaunis CS and Davitt College who hosted the event.

Joan O Flynn, President of the Camogie Association attended the event. She presented Coaching Certificates to 24 TY students from Davitt College Castlebar, Ballyhaunis CS and Sacred Heart secondary school in Westport who completed the Camßn Get a Grip coaching course before christmas. These qualified TY students used their qualification to help coach the first years in the school and then this blitz was so that the first years could compete against each other. The TY’s will continue to use their coaching qualification in their local clubs also.

Charlie Lambert Co ordinator of the Mayo Local Sposts Partnership attended and Peter Cassidy represented Mayo County Board on the day. Thanks to Yvonne Byrne Regional Development Officer for her help on the day.

A follow up outdoor development Blitz will be held in early May for these schools and any other interested schools in the province .
