Latest

As our members know, the Camogie Association has been working collaboratively with the GAA and LGFA over many years towards the achievement of full integration of the Gaelic games associations.

We therefore welcome all support for this process that we receive.

We in the Camogie Association wish the GAA the best with their Annual Congress this weekend. As this is a GAA Congress, the Camogie Association does not have speaking or voting rights. However, at our own Congress on 1st and 2nd April, we will present a motion that will enable our members to reaffirm their ongoing commitment and support for integration.

Text of Motion by Ard Chomhairle to the Camogie Association Congress

Recognising the leadership and constructive ongoing engagement demonstrated by the Camogie Association in recent years, Congress mandates the Uachtarán and Ard Chomhairle to continue working towards the integration of the Camogie Association, the GAA and LGFA to ensure that:

  1. Organisational and governance structures reflect an integrated Gaelic Games Organisation.
  2. Gender equity and its delivery is recognised as a core value of the Gaelic Games family, promoting it across stakeholders, Government and citizens.
  3. There is equitable access to full participation in Gaelic Games across all units of the Organisation.
  4. The promotion of our Gaelic Games is strengthened on an equitable, diverse, cross community basis.

Congress requests that a formal progress update be provided to Ard Chomhairle on a regular basis and that the Uachtarán would provide a comprehensive report of progress at Congress.

ENDS.
