We take a closer look at the Liberty Insurance Senior Championship fixtures taking place this weekend.

Saturday July 20th
Liberty Insurance All-Ireland Senior Camogie Championship, Group 1
Kilkenny v Limerick, John Lockes GAA, Callan, 5pm, Cathal Egan (Cork)
Last year’s finalists and 2016 champions Kilkenny have a perfect Championship record to date with three wins from three games and only two goals conceded so far. They welcome Limerick this weekend who are closing in on progression to the next stage of the competition with two wins from three matches. Currently in third on score difference the Shannonsiders can use the experience of their good form to date when they travel to Kilkenny this weekend.

Wexford v Galway, Bellefield GAA, 5pm, Liz Dempsey (Kilkenny)
Having only fulfilled two of their fixtures so far and suffering two defeats, Wexford lie bottom of the table and in danger of facing a relegation playoff. A result of some kind is needed against Galway this weekend if they are to retain their Senior status and live to fight another day. Galway on the other hand lie in second place with progression to the next stages already confirmed prior to this weekend.

Liberty Insurance All-Ireland Senior Camogie Championship, Group 2
Dublin v Clare, Parnell Park, 1pm, Owen Elliott (Antrim)
With only one win from four matches in their Championship campaign so far, the girls in blue will be disappointed that their season will come to an end after this weekend as they failed to progress from a very difficult group. Their opponents Clare have found themselves I the very same position, with just the one win on the board. The winner will finish in fourth place in the group.

Meath v Tipperary, Donaghmore/Ashbourne, 5pm, Ray Kelly (Kildare)
It has been a tough campaign for the Royal ladies who remain rooted to the foot of the table after failing to register a win in their campaign to date. A relegation playoff looks very likely so they can still finish the season on a high if they can overcome their opposition in that playoff. Meanwhile Tipperary are qualified to the Quarter-Final stages having secured enough points on the board. Second spot is up for grabs for the Premier county if they overcome Meath and Waterford fail to beat the reigning champions this weekend.

Sunday 21st July
Liberty Insurance All-Ireland Senior Camogie Championship, Group 2
Waterford v Cork, Walsh Park, 5pm, Ray Kelly (Kildare)
Currently lying in second position in the group, Waterford have secured their passage to the Quarter-Finals however they could lose their grip on second spot if they fail to beat the champions this weekend. It will depend also on the Tipperary result, but they have booked their place amongst the strongest with qualification to the next rounds. Champions Cork have been ruthless so far with four wins from four and only conceded 37 points in those four matches (2-31). Their attack has also been prolific, having registered a massive 10 goals and 81 points in just 240 minutes of Championship action.
